Financial Programs Bureau

Financial Programs Bureau operations focus on Department financial matters, with an emphasis on budget, revenue, warehousing, and is divided into the following five sections:

Budget Services - prepares the Department’s annual budget request for submission to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Additionally, the section monitors budgetary expenditures and revenues to ensure the Department remains within the Board of Supervisors’ adopted budget.

Central Property and Evidence Unit - serves as the central repository for all evidence and property seized by the Department, and is responsible for maintaining accurate chain of custody records.

Central Supply and Logistics Unit - serves as the major commodity and law enforcement equipment distribution center for the Department. This section also maintains the records of the Department’s fixed assets, coordinates all printing, duplicating and reproduction services for the Department.

Item Control Unit - monitors and tracks employee positions Department-wide, providing executives and requesting units with reports on the status of staffing and vacancies for sworn and professional staff.

Special Accounts Unit - responsible for collecting the Department’s revenue and the duties are divided among four subsections: Cost Studies, Prisoner Maintenance, Revenue and Billing, and Trust and Cashiering.
