CST deputies complete an intensive training program. They possess Class B licenses and are trained in every aspect of maneuvering 40 foot buses weighing 44,000 pounds in and out of court lock ups and custody facilities. CST crews operate their buses through an interlacing system of crowded freeways and surface streets while ever mindful of public safety and inmate security.
