The Master of Public Administration (MPA) program is designed to provide a quality graduate professional education for individuals entering or currently employed in public service and nonprofit professions. This asynchronous learning model reproduces the basic elements of a classroom teaching experience outside of the classroom. As such, the MPA Online program incorporates the traditional classroom components of a teaching faculty member, course materials, and the shared experiences of a cohort group of classmates. National UniversityIn partnership with LASD University - Presents Bachelor of Science degrees in Criminal Justice, Domestic Security Management and Public Administration, and Masters in Public Administration (MPA) National University offers accelerated degree programs specifically tailored to the needs of working professionals. Students complete their degree while attending National Universitys intensive one course per month format. The flexibility of National Universitys programs has made it the second largest, nonprofit private institution for higher learning in California. Courses are offered to Department members at a substantial discount. National University is regionally accredited through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Bachelor of Science Programs Criminal Justice is the fastest growing discipline in the United States. As policing becomes more and more sophisticated, an ever increasing number of crimes are prevented or solved through the use of DNA evidence and computer forensics. Classes are taught in a distance learning format. Program Overview The Master of Science degree program in Criminal Justice is designed to meet the needs of students who are preparing for careers in criminal justice as well as those planning doctoral study. Masters training focuses on development of knowledge and skills in the areas of management, administration, theory, and research. The program is located at the nexus of theory and practice to ensure that students are grounded in criminal justice theory, understand the practical implications of theory, and have the ability to perform rudimentary analysis of both theory and practice. University of Southern CaliforniaIn partnership with LASD University - Presents an Executive Master of Leadership Degree The Executive Master of Leadership is a program for leaders and with leaders, who are designing personal and professional transformational change. This program is designed to allow you to lead from your core values and to profoundly contribute to your organization and your community. Program Overview Applicants for the executive master of leadership degree must possess five or more years of work experience with progressively greater levels of responsibility to be admitted to the program. Candidates for admission must have earned a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Exceptions to the minimum GPA requirements may be made when justified by exceptional work experience and letters of recommendation. Currently, the Core Courses are in a condensed format and meet for 8 days all day Thursday, Friday, Saturday and some Sundays once per month on campus at USC. Woodbury UniversityIn partnership with LASD University - Presents a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership and Masters of Arts in Organization Leadership Woodbury University was established in 1884, and is regionally accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Organizational Leadership is a recognized degree for those interested in management and leadership positions in the public or private sectors. The program offers students a variety of benefits, including smaller classes, professional faculty, accelerated courses, flexible scheduling, interactive classroom format, onsite academic advising, financial aid advising, and convenient class schedules. Bachelor of Arts Program The Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership focuses on understanding human behavior: principles of effective leadership; organizational structure; ethical behavior; decision-making principles; communication processes; and principles of effective management. All employees of Los Angeles County are eligible for this degree program. An Associate of Arts degree (AA) or the equivalent is required for admission. Graduates of the Deputy Leadership Institute (DLI) continuum benefit from additional credit transfer to this degree. Master of Arts Program Students must possess a Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution to be considered for admission. The program consists of ten courses and requires one year to complete. Pacific Coast University School of LawPacific Coast University (PCU) was founded in 1927, and is located in the City of Long Beach. The program offers a traditional curriculum in law, leading to the Juris Doctor degree, and qualifying graduates to sit for the General Bar Examination of California. PCU has a proud history of serving the needs of hard-working people raising families and trying to advance themselves despite limited funds. To ensure a quality education, PCUs classes are small, limited to 50 students, so that instructors are accessible for questions and discussion.
