JACQUES “ANTHONY” LA BERGE PROMOTED TO CAPTAIN


Jacques “Anthony” La Berge, a 21-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, was recently promoted to the rank of Captain by Sheriff Lee Baca and assigned to the newly expanded Office of Homeland Security. He has assumed command of Transit Services South Bureau and oversees the bus and rail law enforcement operations.

Captain La Berge’s career with the Sheriff’s Department began in 1984, when he attended the Department’s Training Academy as a member of Class #226. After graduating as a Deputy Sheriff in 1985, he held assignments at Pitchess Detention Center-East Facility (“Wayside Max”), and patrol and detective positions at Lennox Station. Captain La Berge was promoted to Sergeant in 1994 and worked at Pitchess Detention Center-South Facility, Crescenta Valley/Altadena Stations, and the Special Enforcement Bureau. In 2000 he was promoted to Lieutenant and was assigned to Century Station, Compton Station Operations, and Chief’s Aide for Field Operations Region II Headquarters.

Captain La Berge is currently enrolled at California State University, Long Beach, through LASD University. Captain La Berge resides in the city of Santa Clarita with his wife Emiliza, and his two beautiful daughters, 13-year-old Amber and 21-month-old Elise. He enjoys spending quality time with his family. In his spare time he enjoys working out and is an avid fan of professional and college football.
