S.T.T.O.P.
The Sheriff's Teen Traffic Offender Program.
Teen drivers who display poor or unsafe driving habits increase
the likelyhood of a traffic serious traffic collision. The
consequences of such a collision may result in costly property
damage and personal injury or even death.
In an effort to bring the reality of unsafe driving to our
teen drivers, we have implemented S.T.T.O.P. This program
relies on our citizens to report unsafe teen drivers to our
specialized hotline. After recieving the report of unsafe
driving, we contact the driver. We explain the dangers of
unsafe driving.
When a member of the community observes a teenage driver
operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous or reckless manner,
their driving may be reported using the S.T.T.O.P. Hotine,
(626) 292-3395.
The S.T.T.O.P. program does not dispatch a deputy sheriff
to take immediate law enforcement action. Rather, with the
information left by the anonymous caller, a deputy conducts
an "intervention" with the teenaged driver and
his/her parent(s). The counseling session is designed to
create positive change in the driving habits of our teenagers.
If you see a TEEN traffic offender in Temple Station's Patrol
Area, Please call 626-292-3395

| Home
Safe Program: |
|
The "Home Safe" program is designed to better serve the
families and individuals who are dealing with issues of Alzheimer's
and Mental Disabilities. The program is simple and allows Temple
Station to 'track' the patients living in our station area.
Lost patients found wandering in our streets are quickly reunited
with their family members or caretakers. Program participation
only requires that a family member or caretaker provide a photo
of the patient and fill out a form with pertinant information.
The photos and information are stored at Temple Station which
can provide a ready reference for our field officers. It can
reduce stress and reduce the length of time deputies spend handling
"found adult" situations.
